Free .NZ Domain Privacy

Free Individual Registrant Privacy Option (IRPO) is available for your .nz domains registered through Cheeky Monkey Hosting.

 What does Domain Privacy mean?

This feature allows individuals with a .nz domain name the choice of hiding certain personal details from displaying in public WHOIS search.

When registering a domain you need to supply your name, address, phone number and email address. This information is then visible to anyone who performs a WHOIS query on your domain name.

However, from 1 December 2017, you can enable IRPO on your .nz domain(s), which will withhold your address and phone number from display in a WHOIS search. Your name, email address and country will still be visible, even with IRPO enabled.

What is the cost to enable Domain Privacy?

With Cheeky Monkey Hosting, IRPO is available as a free service as part of your domain registration. If you decide to enable IRPO, there will be no additional fee.

What domains can I enable IRPO on?

IRPO is available for all .nz domains (any domain name that ends with a .nz). However, it is only available to individuals who are not in trade. If your .nz domain name belongs to a business or other trading entity, then you are not eligible to enable IRPO.
