Commissioning of New MTA Mail Cluster Servers

Sick of Spam? You're Not the Only One!

All hosted domains will now be added to the Cheeky Monkey Hosting MTA cluster that scans for spam and viruses. We'll be using a collection of servers called MTA's (Mail Transport Agents) to fight the battle against spam. These MTAs use software such as Spam Assassin, Mail Scanner, Clam Anti-Virus and techniques such as DHA (directory harvesting attack) detection, to pick up and delete anywhere between 500,000 to 1.5 million spam emails a day.

Your hosting account will be added to the MTA cluster this week. All hosted domains will be added by Monday, 7 April.

New Australian and UK Domain Names

Cheeky Monkey Hosting has launched a new service providing New Zealand businesses with Australian and a range of .uk domain names.

Kiwi businesspeople may think they have to have a physical presence across the Tasman before obtaining an Australian domain name (.com.au and .net.au). However, businesses only need apply for an Australian Business Number (ABN), which can be done over the Net by visiting www.abr.gov.au. While the service is aimed primarily at businesses wanting to expand into the Australian market, it is also a good way of establishing overseas control of valuable business or product names.

.UK, the country code Domain Names for the United Kingdom are now available at Cheeky Monkey Hosting. Pricing for .uk Domain Names is the same as .nz or .com. .uk Domain Names will benefit businesses trading or marketing into the United Kingdom and Europe.
